Christmas Eve 2012

Monday, December 24, 2012

I am sure I am not alone when I rhetorically ask, "Where has the year gone?!"

I sit here in my little corner of the kitchen writing this post while my two monkeys run around our small home screaming and laughing. It warms my heart to be surrounded by this happy chaos while it seems to add to my headache. :-)  I look around my home and see all that should be done: wash clothes, fold clothes, bathe the monkeys, wash the dishes, wrap those gifts!  -sigh - But then I look at my monkeys and in the big scheme of things living in a messy home for the moment is just fine. A messy home just doesn't seem like such a big deal.

The fact is that the past year has been full of messy home moments in preparation of birthday parties and family gatherings. In the next couple of days I hope to post a few pictures of some of those events. In the meantime, I wish you and yours a very joyous Christmas full of merriment and wonderment.

A Blog Is Born!

Finally!

I have finally created my very own blog. You see, I have a problem. In fact my husband would call it an addiction. I love to follow creative blogs and am often inspired to create those very things I read about.

I love the feeling of being inspired to create something I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. And boy have I been inspired! Over the past year I got a sewing machine, tinkered with Photoshop, and am teaching myself photography. Does this mean I am an artist? A crafter extraordinaire?  No, but I do feel fulfilled, in some weird way, when I create.

The act of creating something be it sewing a simple pillow or making a seasonal wreath to hang on my front door gives me a nice tingly feeling. I love the look of surprised pleasure on my son's face when I revamp his favorite tee shirt. Heck, even just implementing an organizational technique fills me with glee!  I have created this blog to document my creative endeavors when time allows. My time is limited as a full-time worker and mother of two ages 5 and 1 1/2 but I will check in to share what I have been up to.

Hope you'll stop by again soon!
